Trusting God First

June 1, 2016
Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is thew man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord."  Jeremiah 17:5.

Placing your ultimate trust in anything other than God is idolatry. Answer these questions about your Faith and Trust:
  • How can you know if your faith is not truly in God?
  • Where do I turn when I experience a crisis?
  • When I am hurting or afraid, to whom do I go ?
  • When I have a financial problem, whom do I want to tell first?
  • Where do I seek comfort when I am under stress or discouraged?
Could it be that you are saying you trust jn God, but your actions indicate otherwise? God often uses other people as His method of providing for you. Be careful lest you inadvertently misdirect your faith toward His provision instead of toward the Provider. God may meet your need through your friends, but ultimately your trust must be in God.

Don't be so stubbornly committed to trusting in human strength instead of God. Do not realize too late, that you have neglected to trust in the only One who could deliver you.  Don't make the same mistakes some many others has made. Go straight to the Lord when you have a need.  He is the only One who can provide for you.

Have A Good Day!

February 6, 2016
Have you ever had someone to wish you a good day?  Your next door neighbor, the cashier in the department store, your friends at work or school, or even a total stranger may say to you, "Have a good day." But does this wish cause us to have a good day? How can we really have a good day - not only today, but every day?  In times such as these we are praying that you will rest in the assurance that the "I AM" of the universe is always present with you.  His Presence will be sufficient for all t...

Desires

July 11, 2015
" For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature."  Galatians 5:17

Three questions to ask one self?
  • What do you feel we truly deserve in this life.
  • Is selfness a problem for us?
  • Do you sometimes feel that you're not getting what you deserve in a relationship?
Pray for us to over come our self-centered impulses and ask God for His grace and mercy to empower us to serve instead of to deserve.

Sin that Entangles Us

February 7, 2014
Hebrews12:1....Therefore,since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumrance, and the sinwhich so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that set before us.....

Sin stealthily and rentlessly entangles our lives.  We will never be able to run the race marked out for our us as long as we are entrapped in sin. We can only escape sin's bondage only if we can recognize it for what it is.  We can call sin a "mistake", "bad habit", o...

Being God's Man

January 18, 2014
And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijal said to Elisha, "Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?" Elisha said, "Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."  2 Kings 2

We can be tempted to put more trust in the leaders God gives us than in God Himself.  History teaches that, as wonderful as these godly people are, God always has another Moses, Elijah, or David. Often the successor will come with a double portion of their predecessors's spirits.

God...
